Holly Simon
My name is Holly Simon, and I suppose that my life experiences not only led me towards counselling but taught me great lessons that helped me to be understanding, accepting and to have an open mind.
Largely due to being a foster family through my childhood, I have multiple siblings, some of whom have disabilities and mental health concerns. I spent 30 years in policing, working across multiple areas, including 6 years as a hostage and crisis negotiator. I have heard many stories, as varied and interesting as the people who told them.

A Fully Qualified And Experienced Counsellor
I am an Integrated Counsellor and, by ‘integrated’, I mean that I have qualified in various approaches to counselling. I have also learnt to use a variety of tools and techniques to find what works best in managing whatever is going on for you now and to also keep with you, should life throw curve balls in the future.
I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, where I established a person-centered approach, and I then went on to secure a further Diploma specialising in Trauma. I have worked with PTSD, complex PTSD, personality disorders (including Disassociated Identity Disorder (DID)), addictive behaviors, anger mismanagement, obsessive thoughts, hypersensitivity, and more.
I am also qualified in Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), often referred to as ‘tapping’, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and I am a Hypnotherapy Practitioner. These techniques complement my gentle approach to stress, anxiety, addiction, trauma, and difficult emotions, meaning that clients do not feel the pressure of expectations, are able to go at their own pace and without fear of being re-traumatised.
My Diploma in Integrated Energy Techniques (IET) provides exercises that focus on certain issues causing concern, encouraging calm-related responses in the body and mind. Such exercises can be utilised by the client even when not in session.
Having completed a masters diploma in Contemprary Relationship therapy, I also specialise in relationships, be that couples, parent-child, siblings, open, polyamorous or any other significant relationship.
